The Corporate Website part 2 “Development”
My website design methodology is organized, comprehensive, and proven, ensuring that your project will be done on-time, on-budget, and will exceed expectations.

Components of website development include:

Information Architecture

Based on results of our Internet consulting, we work with your marketing team to determine how to exceed customer expectations, and how to translate that customer experience into a working website structure. The deliverable is a set of website blueprints that include proposed site architecture and high level site requirements. These blueprints will be used for the new website design.

Content Outline

This outline sets forth what information should be contained on each page, who the targeted audience is, and what their desired user action is.

Wire Frames

The Wire frames are prototypes showing the placement and hierarchy of elements on key pages within the new website design. Wire frames utilize only black and white lines and boxes. No fully-formed design elements are utilized. This stripped down approach forces the Web design firm and clients to look at the proposed interfaces from a purely functional and hierarchical perspective, without color scheme and other specific elements influencing decisions on placement and layout.

Design Comps

In this step, 2-3 sample look and feel options for client review are created. Typically, a home page, main section page, and subsection page for each design direction are developed to illustrate navigation progression. Based on client feedback, changes are made to comps until a final website “look” is settled upon.

Requirements

The requirements document describes all the processes on the website. If a user clicks a particular button, what happens? Site update protocols or Content Management Systems (CMS) are perhaps the most important aspect of this document as they dictate how changes will be made to the website, via what software, and the work flow for approval of site changes.

Content Creation

Creation of the website copy, based on the content outline is available as are editing services if desired. When completed, copy is incorporated in the alpha release.

Testing

Comprehensive testing of all aspects of the site, per the approved test plan.

Deployment

After bugs have been fixed and client has been trained on website update processes, the site will be moved to the final hosting environment and made accessible to the public.
