Image Intensive Headers

filed under: Web

daddyhinklesheader_webBlue boxes are drawn around the individual assets

Creating a layered header by cutting small transparent .gifs and weaving them together with html and css delivers smooth sharp loading even on slow internet connections. This approach is a lot of extra work and most people may not notice much difference but to me it’s totally worth it.

It’s also great for SEO if you put alt tags relevant to each picture, that way they show up better in Google image search as apposed to just one big logo.
